Bowls from the Valley

Every tea bowl at KIRI is made within an hour of the house. A visit to the kilns that shape our table.

Hands shaping a clay bowl on a potter's wheel, with finished bowls and a mountain view behind

The bowls at breakfast, the cups in your room, the plates that carry dinner — all of them come from a handful of small kilns in the valley below the house.

Made slowly, used daily

We ask the potters for pieces that are pleasant to hold and quiet to look at. Small irregularities are welcome; they are how you know a hand was involved.

Guests can spend an afternoon at the kiln and make a bowl of their own — see Experiences for details.
